Westmount School has built a new state of the art campus in Palmerston North, with facilities for students from year three to thirteen. emf was involved with the main switchboard and distribution boards through the facility. Part of the specification called for a connection point to provide an RCD protected power supply to the mobile dental clinic bus. This connection point needed to be easily accessible, safe for a school environment and robust.
The Solution:
We used Cubo O as this was the most robust enclosure available and easily adaptable to fit the power outlet on the side. The enclosure has space for two rows of din rail (12 modules each) so that a 3 phase outlet can be added to the other side at a later date if necessary. Another advantage of the hinged door system is it can be lockable, preventing students isolating the dental bus during procedures, particularly useful in a school! The IK08 impact rating means these boxes are very robust, more than capable of handling a direct hit from a rugby ball, and the IP65 rating protects the internal componentry from the sprinklers and driving rain.
